A Financial Tool for Those Who Choose Sustainability The Casa Mea Natura  mortgage is a product designed to meet the needs of a growing number of Romanians interested in energy-efficient, healthy homes with a low environmental impact. It can be used for the purchase or refinancing of a property that is either: certified as a green home by the Romania Green Building Council , or has an energy performance class A  and was built after the year 2000. Beyond the direct benefits offered to clients, this financial product supports RoGBC’s mission to promote responsible and sustainable urban development in Romania. Attractive Financial Terms BCR’s offer includes a series of preferential conditions for those who choose to invest in a green home: Fixed interest rate of 4.79% per year for the first 3 years , then variable: IRCC + 2.1% , for clients enrolled in the MAX or MAX INVEST benefit programs or those who transfer their monthly income to a BCR account For clients who do not meet these conditions, the interest rate is 5.99% per year for the first 3 years , then IRCC + 3.3% ZERO credit administration fee  and no property evaluation costs Low-cost life insurance : only 0.026% monthly , applied to the outstanding loan balance Representative example : for a loan of 350,000 RON over 25 years, the monthly installment is approximately 2,094 RON for the first 3 years , then around 2,645 RON . The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) is 7.39% , and the total repayable amount is 766,420 RON . This offer is valid until August 20, 2025 . The RecoverIND project (Ecological and Innovative Technologies for recovering industrial areas from LCA and Energy Efficiency point of view) is funded by the Erasmus+ program and aims to deepen the interconnection between energy efficiency, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and the use of advanced technologies for building design and rehabilitation of the construction sector. SMAFIN Expanded Project The SMAFIN Expanded project is a continuation and enhancement of previous efforts to promote smart financing for energy efficiency investments across various sectors, including the tertiary sector and SMEs. Building on the success of the original SMAFIN roundtables, this expanded initiative welcomes Slovenia alongside Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, and Romania to create a more inclusive and effective platform for energy renovation discussions. SMAFIN Expanded aims to support energy-efficient renovation for both private and public buildings while encouraging investments in SMEs and the tertiary sector. The project focuses on creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge transfer, and the implementation of smart financing models to ensure that energy efficiency is effectively integrated into policies and practices across multiple regions. Recognizing the need for deeper investigation into energy efficiency topics and stakeholder privacy, the project employs thematic working groups. These groups tackle sector-specific challenges and foster collaboration, ensuring that energy financing strategies are tailored to the needs of each participant. The project also introduces cross-country labs designed to share best practices and introduce innovative financing solutions for energy efficiency. These labs serve as a bridge to transfer knowledge between EU countries and beyond, helping to establish common responses to energy challenges while promoting cooperation within the broader Balkan region. SMAFIN Expanded brings together a diverse range of stakeholders, including government bodies, financial institutions, ESCOs, industry representatives, SMEs, and citizen associations. The project aims to upgrade policy measures, develop financial instruments, and support large-scale investment programs that mobilize private funding for energy efficiency improvements.
