About

On February 28, 2019, Nophadrain Romania, together with Sika Romania and Arta Gradinilor, will organize the second edition of the conference "Leaving Grey, Living Green – Maximize the Open Space" at the Bragadiru Palace in Bucharest. The main theme of the conference is raising awareness about the importance of urban green spaces and promoting unconventional alternatives and solutions for maximizing urban green space in Romania.

The event is aimed at professionals in the field (architects, landscape architects, contractors, developers) who can propose and implement sustainable solutions for urban Romania, as well as representatives of local authorities, with an expected audience of approximately 350-400 people.

The conference will feature speakers recognized for their know-how and experience from Romania, Italy, England, and the Netherlands. Among the invited guests are:

  • Laura Gatti, landscape architect and agronomist, partner in the well-known Bosco Verticale project initiated in Milan with Stefano Boeri and currently being implemented worldwide.
  • Theodor Harasim, representative of the Romanian Green Building Council (ROGBC), a non-profit organization officially accredited as an emerging council by the World Green Building Council, aiming to encourage all necessary conditions for promoting high-performance buildings.
  • Gary Grant, advocate for green roofs, international consultant on urban greening solutions, and author of several books on the topic.
  • Cerasella Craciun, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Urbanism, UAUIM Bucharest, architect and urban planner with experience in architecture projects, buildings, construction, interior design, urban planning, landscape architecture, and design.
  • Leo Kooijman, horticultural engineer and arboriculture specialist, representing the well-known Ebben nursery from the Netherlands.
