About
A 6-hour course to educate professionals on the importance of selecting a suitable site for the construction and operation of green buildings. Investors need to have a clear understanding of the requirements for constructing a green building before acquiring land. International green building certification systems (LEED, BREEAM, DGNB, etc.) include mechanisms for penalties or recognition related to how the construction site is established—whether and how biodiversity and ecological impact are considered, access to transportation, and other considerations regarding site management and sustainability.
It is essential to have a clear understanding of the implications of sustainable site selection and site management before starting the project development or even before purchasing land. Internationally recognized ecological rating tools acknowledge those who select and develop construction sites, focusing on biodiversity value, environmental impact, public transit availability, and other sustainable site management considerations.
