RoGBC is the only organization focused on green buildings and on the sustainable built environment in Romania recognized at both national and international level, gathering the most important stakeholders in the construction sector, which have adopted similar principles and values to transform the built environment into a more sustainable, energy and resource efficient one. RoGBC advises municipalities in several cities in Romania on tax issues and is preparing the ethical code for the active green building professionals in Romania.

"BREEAM is one of the tools used to improve the built environment increasingly used in the Romanian market. We are pleased to expand our partnership with the Building Research Establishment (BRE) to educate as many Romanian professionals as possible to become both licensed BREEAM assessors and BREEAM In Use auditors.'' Steven Borncamp, CEO, Romanian Green Building Council.

Also for the past weeks RoGBC has circulated a survey to assess the opportunity to adapt the international green building schemes to the environmental and economic conditions in Romania. RoGBC will support the development of a BREEAM NSO (National Scheme Operator) in collaboration with environmental NGOs, the industry and the respondents to the survey, which were included in the working group "Green Building Certification Task Group”.
