Energy Efficiency Action Plan published this Spring establishes the synergie between all EU decuments that aproach the building sector as the first priority for action towards the achievement of the 20/20 targets of energy consumption and GHG emission reduction. The current energy crysis is in fact a knowledge crysis that imposes the search and research for new solutions, allowing for the sustainable development of human society.

During the conference, the follwoing subjects were discussed:

• European and national legal framework for achieving the  2020  EU targets;
• Sustainable technologies for buildings;
• Energy efficient architecture;
• Sustainable / renewable energy sources for the building sector;
• Models for the nearly zero energy buildings;
• Intelligence in buildings, neighborhoods, energy grids and building users;
• Analysis tools for energy performance of buildings.
