The 2011 edition of the international architectural contest / competition "Archetypes" is approaching it's final stage. 13 cities, 29 locations, over 800 participants from 15 countries that have signed 121 projects were evaluated by an international jury. The competition continues its mission to improve urban public space in Romania.

The final conference of Sustainable Architecture and "Archetypes" Winners Festivity 2011, which will take place on Saturday, September 3rd, starting at 16.00, the Patriarchal Palace, Bucharest. The event will continue at the "Atelierul de productie" with an exhibition of the 50 semifinalist projects/ of the top 50 projects and also an after party.

Archetypes 2011 is a concept meant to vitalize the conjoint participation of public administrations, architects and private economic environment to the increase of the quality of the public space as an important component of the life quality of all members in the Romanian community. Archetypes is a complex exercise of network cooperation based on the most recent digital communication techniques, information mobility and portability of the competences in a competition environment characteristic to the modern markets. Archetypes is an exercise of solidarity, communication, knowledge, research and innovation, searching for completely new solutions meant to activate ignored, abandoned spaces or public spaces for which no regenerating solutions have been found yet. The first edition of the contest , Archetypes 2010 was successful on all levels: number of town and sites, companies and institutions involved, projects submitted, authors and collaborators, finalists and winners.
